Impress touch display

I have seen a lot of touch screen stuff but this one interested me because it offers an interesting solution (?) to one of my main complaints with touch screen setups: the lack of a tactile sensation. As you can see it is a bit rough but for a demo I thought it was cool.

Pnau - Baby

Pnau features some of the things that I really hate in music, the most offending/annoying being that of children choruses. But Pnau and their self titled album somehow continues to works it way into rotation in my playlist. Here is their first single off of their newest album.

You can get a HQ version over at No Fat Clips!!!

Metronomy - A Thing For Me

A Thing For Me from Metronomy on Vimeo.

I downloaded this last week but never watched it once it finished. While cleaning up and archiving videos on my desktop I found this and feel in love with it.

Day N’ Night

kid cudi - day ‘n’ nite

This is the new music video for Kid Cudi directed by So-Me who you most likely know from his work with Justice.

I been had…

Like I said previously I was going to turn this into a little more of a personal blog. I guess that means I will be putting up whatever I feel like in this space. I’ve been walking around most of the day doing this and thought I would share this with you…

Strange how occasionally things like this will turn me into my 8 year old self mimicking stuff like I just go out of a kung-fu movie.

MF Redesign Pt. 1

Now that Left Brain, Write Brain is up I decided to take a little time tonight to get started on my redesign of MelonFresh. What I thought was only going to be an hour tops of messing around turned into 4 hours. I thought I would take a shot at creating a new wordmark with modified type. I knew the basic characteristics I wanted since I have been sketching some ideas the past few weeks. I will spare everybody my horrible type sketches and just show you where I am at right now.

This is actually a modified Century Gothic Bold with obvious influences from Avant Garde Alt on the R and M. I am debating right now on making the O narrow but I kind of like it the way it is now. The terminals on the S may get changed also.

What do you guys think?

Left Brain, Write Brain

lbwb

Left Brain, Write Brain, is the new design blog by Jadyn Aguilar (jadyn.tv), Nicolas Alexander (Good Morning Stranger) and myself. We will be serving up sweet design content everyday including: Daily Inspiration, tutorials, reviews, work from around the web and other stuff too awesome to mention here. This has been a long in development project but is finally here and allows me to go in a different direction with this blog. I am now going to try to keep this space a little more personal (and hopefully updated more often). So that means I am going to be posting mainly personal work, my own writing (short stories?) and a lot of things that probably are not graphic design related. The fact we actually got the site up and running also means that I can now spend my free time on a couple of my other side projects and work on a redesign of my website.

Also you can follow us on Twitter and join our Facebook group.

Thank ahead of time for your support of our new site and we hope that you find it as helpful and interesting as much as we anticipate having fun working on it.

(I stole the post image and some text from Nick. It’s late and I am lazy right now.)

Feb ‘09: No Genre Limits edition

Another month and another playlist. This one doesn’t really have a theme and is just a collection of mostly new stuff I have been listening to lately. This has been a slow month for new albums that interest me so these tracks are mainly singles that I have culled together from various blogs I visit. Enjoy.

My required listening tracks from the playlist are: Glasvegas - Daddy’s Gone, Holy Sons - The Feral Kid, and Starfucker - Holly. Yes I just told to listen to a band called Starfucker.

Listen on The 2nd Page or with OpenTape.
